Jamie has been playing saxophone since 2000. In 2009 he passed his final 8th Grade AMEB (Australian Music Education Board) exam with an honors mark. He studied Music 2 for HSC, majoring in performance, and acquired a Band 6 mark. He has been tutoring professionally since 2010.

He also plays piano, guitar and bass guitar. Jamie has performed in big bands, musical theatre orchestras, jazz ensembles, solo projects and his current pop-groove band Jacaranda Slims, playing keyboard and saxophone in this outfit. Jacaranda Slims have over 35,000 streams on Spotify, have opened for Australian and international acts such as Winston Surfshirt, Ocean Alley and Blue King Brown, as well as touring Adelaide in 2016.

Jamie has a sound grasp of music theory and is drawn to composing and performing in a variety of genres such as classical, jazz, hip hop, EDM and rock. In 2012 he released his self-produced hip hop album “Sophisticated Fiending.”
